(Order of the Court was made by G.K.ILANTHIRAIYAN, J.) This Habeus Corpus Petition has been filed to direct the respondents herein to produce the body or person of the missing wife of the petitioner namely Deepa aged 34 years before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. The detenue is none other than the wife of the petitioner herein. The petitioner and the detenue got married and gave birth to two children. While being so, on 23.12.2024 the detenue left the matrimonial home and did not return back to the matrimonial home, therefore the petitioner lodged complaint before the second respondent and the same has been registered in Crime No.433 of 2024 under 'woman Missing'. On investigation the second respondent found that the wife of the petitioner eloped with one Krishnamoorthi and living with him, however their whereabouts are not known.

3. Admittedly the detenue is major and she on her own volition went along with one Krishnamoorthy. As of now she is she is not under illegal detention of any one.

4. In view of the same, the petition stands dismissed. However the second respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file final report in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order [G.K.I., J.] [R.P., J.] 03.02.2026 aav To 1.The Superintendent of Police Karur District, Karur 2.The Inspector of Police Vengamedu Police Station Karur District 3.The Additional Public Prosecutor Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai.
