ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to expedite the process in O.Mu.(A7)/0516/2025 for rectifying the petitioner's name in the revenue records, namely Patta, 'A' Register, and Chitta, in respect of Survey No.190/3, upon consideration of the petitioner's representation dated 08.09.2025.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is one of the lawful legal heirs of late Pushpam, wife of Kathayapillai, who validly purchased 6 cents of wet (agricultural) land in Survey No.190/3 (Old S.No.36/24A), Thiruverumbur Village and Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District, under Sale Deed Document No.2427 of 1978. The title of the petitioner's predecessorin-interest is undisputed and traceable to a registered sale deed, and the property has all along belonged to the petitioner's family. However, due to a clerical/transposition error during UDR/RSR updation, the revenue records, namely the 'A' Register and Patta, have been erroneously entered in the name of
an unrelated entity, viz., "Kattal Kal Samiyar Samadhu Madam". The said entry is patently erroneous, unsupported by any title document, and has resulted in serious prejudice to the petitioner. Despite submitting a representation dated 08.09.2025 seeking rectification, the respondents have failed to take timely action, necessitating the present writ petition.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the enquiry will be completed and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to complete the enquiry and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
