Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to give permission and protection to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 20.02.2021 and 21.02.2021 at Rishabam Village, Rayapuram Post, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District.

ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) accepts notice for the respondent.

3. Mr.K.Kevinkaran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the Head of Kabadi Team at Rishabam Village, Rayapuram Post, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District and that the Kabadi Tournament is scheduled to be conducted on 20.02.2021 and 21.02.2021. His further contention is that he has submitted a representation dated 10.02.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the said Tournament and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents.

Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent, on instructions, would contend that no such representation is pending with the respondent. However, he would submit that if a fresh representation is filed by the petitioner, the same would be considered as per law. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

5. Considering the said submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), the petitioner is directed to file a fresh representation before the respondent and on receipt of the same, the respondent shall consider and pass appropriate orders, based on merits and on findings and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the representation of the petitioner.

6. With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
