************* [Order of the Court was made by K.KALYANASUNDARAM.,J.] This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondents to grant the emergency leave or ordinary leave to the petitioner's younger brother by name Bass @ Baskaran, son of Panchavaranam, life convict prisoner at Madurai Central Prison, Madurai, for a period of one week from 19.02.2022 to enable him to attend the 20th day ceremony of their mother Mrs.Rakkathal to be held on 19.02.2022, 20.02.2022 and 21.02.2022 in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this Court.
2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 08.02.2022 seeking leave for one week was rejected today.
3. Mr.R.Alagumani, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that he could be given atleast a days leave to attend 20th day Ceremony of his mother, who died on 06.02.2022.
4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that if the petitioner files a fresh application seeking a days leave, the same will be considered favourably.
