ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Tirunelveli, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.374 of 2018 and dispose of the same, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The grievance of the petitioners is that the petitioners are accused Nos.1 to 5 in Crime No.372 of 2018 and they have been charged with for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 324 and 506(ii) of the Indian Penal Code. The offence was taken cognizance by the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Tirunelveli, in C.C.No.374 of 2018 and for more than one year, trial yet to commence. Hence, the present petition has been filed.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the first respondent, on instructions, submitted that already, the matter is listed for trial on 23.08.2019. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5. Considering the fact that the matter is listed for trial on 23.08.2019, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Tirunelveli, is directed to proceed with the trial and complete the same, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
