This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.12.2025 for registering the sale deed executed by the petitioner on behalf of her minor daughter, citing urgency and exceptional circumstances.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that when the petitioner's daughter was aged about 15 months, the petitioner's husband executed a registered settlement deed dated 24.09.2009 in favour of the minor child, appointing the petitioner as the natural guardian to manage the said property until the minor attained majority. It is further submitted that the petitioner's daughter is presently studying in the first year at Sethu Institute of Technology and has to pursue her studies for another three years to complete the course. In order to meet the substantial educational expenses of her daughter, the petitioner intends to sell the property standing in the name of the minor. 2.(i). It is submitted that, ordinarily, permission of the competent Civil Court is required for the sale of a minor's property. However, considering the urgency of the situation and the time involved in 2/5
obtaining such permission, the petitioner made a representation dated 03.12.2025 to the second respondent seeking registration of the sale deed. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that if the sale deed is presented for registration, the same would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed in accordance with law.
4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court is of the view that the petitioner's intention is to meet the educational expenses of her daughter. It is also noted that the petitioner's daughter would be attaining majority upon completion of her course of study.
5. Accordingly, this Court directs the second respondent to receive and register the sale deed presented by the petitioner. It is made clear that the sale proceeds shall be utilized only for the educational expenses of the minor and proper accounts shall be maintained by the petitioner. The remaining amount, if any, shall be deposited in a fixed deposit in the 3/5
name of the minor until she attains majority.
