Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to provide police protection for the pilgrimage function with Murugan Idol in the Chariot round the village under the
head of the petitioner to be held on 01.02.2026 at 04.00 p.m in Sevalur Village, Trichy District and to take appropriate action on the third respondent and others who blocked the pilgrimage based on the representation of the petitioner's dated 24.01.2026. ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to provide police protection for the pilgrimage function with Murugan Idol in the Chariot round the village under the head of the petitioner to be held on 01.02.2026 at 04.00 p.m in Sevalur Village, Trichy District and to take appropriate action on the third respondent and others who blocked the pilgrimage based on the representation of the petitioner's dated 24.01.2026.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, the learned Government Advocate (Civil Side) appearing for the fourth respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the third respondent. 3.On perusal of the complaint, since the issue relates to the offering of Parivattam and Nattanamai, the matter is referred to the RDO. The Revenue Divisional Officer, Manapparai Taluk, Srirangam, Trichy District is suo impleaded as fourth respondent in this petition.
4. Therefore, the newly impleaded fourth respondent/RDO is directed to conduct an enquiry after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the third respondent and thereafter pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. In case any disputed questions of fact arise and the matter cannot be resolved, then the parties are directed to approach the concerned civil Court.
5.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
