ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to renew the petitioner's passport, based upon his application Reference No.26-1050621692.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the third respondent brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner has been implicated in Criminal case in C.C.No.222 of 2024 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.2 , Kumbakonam.

3. A perusal of the records reveals that the petitioner had approached this Court in W.P(MD).No.5106 of 2025 seeking a writ of 2/5

mandamus for renewal of his passport. An order came to be passed, by this Court on 26.02.2025, wherein a direction was issued to the writ petitioner to approach the trial Court seeking permission to go abroad. Pursuant to the said order, the petitioner has filed a Cr.M.P.No.288 of 2025 before the trial Court seeking permission to go abroad and permission has been granted on 17.04.2025. Pursuant to the same, a short validity passport, having a validity period of one year was granted, which expires on 29.04.2026. Therefore, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Considering the above said facts, the first respondent is directed to renew the petitioner's passport for a further period of one year and pass orders within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of . No Costs.
