PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to accept the domicile certificate pertaining to Tirunelveli District (Presently Tenkasi District) and permit the petitioner to participate in the further selection process for the post of Constables (GD) in General Armed Police Forces (CAPFS), NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR) 2018.

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to accept the domicile certificate pertaining to Tirunelveli District (presently Tenkasi District) and permit the petitioner to participate in the further selection process for the posts of Constable (GD) in General Armed Police Forces (CAPFS), NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR) 2018.
2. Learned Senior Panel Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the selection process for the aforesaid posts has already got completed. It is also
pointed by the learned Senior Panel Central Government Standing Counsel that in Paragraph No.4 of of the counter affidavit filed by the fourth respondent, it has been made clear that the petitioner has also failed in the medical examination and was declared unfit on 10.02.2020, since the petitioner did not produce the domicile certificate on time and he was also declared not qualified in the documents verification session.
3. Admittedly, no interim direction was issued to the respondents by this Court even till date, even though this writ petition was filed in the year 2020. Therefore, for the foregoing reasons, this Court is of the considered view that this writ petition has now become infructuous.
4. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 08.09.2025 (3/3) NCC :
