PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the entire records connected with the impugned rejection order of the 5th respondent rejecting the petitioner's online Application Number TN-720251125791 dated 25.11.2025 and quash the same and also, consequently, direct the 5th respondent to issue Class - II Legal Heir Certificate to petitioner as per the Guidelines in G.O. (Ms) No.478, Revenue and Disaster Management RA-3(2) Department dated 29.09.2022 within a time limit stipulated by this Court. ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the fifth respondent, wherein the request of the petitioner for issuance of a legal heir certificate has been rejected on the sole ground that the direct legal heirs have not approached the authorities.
2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents brought to the notice of this Court that the issue has been reopened by the fifth respondent and steps are being taken to consider the 2/5
request of the petitioner for issuance of a legal heir certificate. She has also received written instructions in this regard from the fifth respondent on 04.02.2026.
3. In view of the above said submission, the impugned order in the writ petition is set aside and the fifth respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner and pass an appropriate orders within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 04.02.2026 TTA TO
