ORDER

The writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal, considering the limited scope of the relief sought for.

2.The petitioner claims that his father was granted an assignment of lands in S.No.466/1 way back on 25.05.1957. Subsequent to the death of his father, the petitioner claims to be in possession and enjoyment of the subject property. According to the petitioner, while at the time of formulating the UDR scheme, without notice to the petitioner, the lands have been transferred as Government lands. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation on 24.04.2024 to reclassify the above lands and re-issue patta to the petitioner. The petitioner seeks disposal of the said representation dated 24.04.2024.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the official respondent would submit that at the time of the UDR scheme, the lands have been transferred and now continue to be reflected as Government lands and therefore, the petitioner has to approach the respondent for making necessary corrections 2/4

subject to satisfying the respondent that the said lands are not Government lands and are private lands belonging to the petitioner and before him the petitioner's father.

4.In the light of the above, the Writ Petition is allowed, directing the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation, dated 24.04.2024 by conducting an enquiry and ascertaining whether necessary changes have to be made in the records and if the petitioner's case is found favour, thereupon the reissuance of patta shall be considered. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
