ORDER : The Court made the following order :- Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.

2. The petitioner apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under sections 5(i), 5 (m) and 6 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offence Act, 2012 (POCSO), in Crime No.8 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

3.The petitioner is an old man aged about 67 years. The victim is aged about seven years. They are neighbors. 4.The petitioner's counsel would point out that even though the occurrence is said to have taken place way back in May 2019, FIR itself came to be registered only in February 2020. According to the FIR, the victim revealed the incident to the mother only in January 2020. The mother has taken a month to move the police. From this gross delay, the petitioner's counsel wants me to infer that the occurrence is a cooked-up one.

5. I am not persuaded by the said submission. Since serious allegations have been made, I am of the view that this is not a fit case for grant of anticipatory bail. Hence, this criminal original petition stands dismissed.
