PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to renew petitioner's passport in his application No.MA3076077949725.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to renew the petitioner's passport.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the third respondent brought to the notice of this Court that a criminal case is pending against the petitioner in C.C.No.258 of 2021 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Nillakottai.

3. The petitioner has approached this Court, on the earlier occasion in W.P(MD).No.28662 of 2022 seeking a Mandamus to renew the petitioner's passport. This Court by an order dated 22.12.2022 had directed the Passport Officials to issue a passport with a validity of six months.

4. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the validity of the petitioner's passport has expired and he wants a renewal.

5. Considering the fact that the petitioner is about to participate in a conference at Malaysia on 27.02.2026, the first respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of a passport for a period of one year and pass appropriate orders on or before 18.02.2026.

6. With the above said directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
