This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the petitioner's representation dated 29.09.2020.

2. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, his grandmother Maruthayee died on 20.02.1930 at Maruthangudi. Due to his innocence, he did not register it. Hence, he made an application before the respondent on 29.09.2020, for issuance of death certificate to his grandmother Maruthayee. The respondent has forwarded the file to the Village Administrative Officer, Marudhankudi and he conducted enquiry on 20.10.2020. However, till date no order has been passed. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

5. Considering the above said facts, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.09.2020 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording opportunity to the parties concerned, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
