ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner's life and limb as claimed in representation, dated 27.01.2025.

2. According to the petitioner, there is a property dispute pending between the petitioner and the private respondents herein, thereby, they assaulted the petitioner and hence, he lodged a complaint and FIR has been registered as against the private respondents in Crime No.477 of 2024 for the offences under Section 147, 427 and 506(1) of IPC on the file of the third respondent and the same is pending. While so, again the respondents 4 and 5 threatened the petitioner and indulged in criminal activities. Thereby, the 2/5

petitioner made a representation on 27.01.2025. But no action was taken against the said representation. Hence, the petitioner filed the present petition for police protection.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the official respondents would submit that there is a property dispute between the parties. Based on that, there are frequent quarrels between them. Already based on the complaint given by the petitioner, an FIR has been registered in Crime No.477 of 2024 and the same is also pending. Thereafter, the petitioner once again sent a representation, dated 27.01.2025 and the same is under consideration and the official respondents will conduct the enquiry based on the representation of the petitioner and they will dispose the representation, dated 27.01.2025 within a week.

4. Since there is a property dispute pending between the parties and already the petitioner also submited a representation and the same is under enquiry, it is appropriate to direct the official respondents to complete the enquiry within a stipulated time. Accordingly, the third respondent is directed to complete the enquiry based on the representation of the petitioner, dated 3/5

27.01.2025 in accordance with law on merits within one (1) week from the date of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
