This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to issue a separate patta in the name of the petitioner for the land comprised in Survey No.180/1A, measuring an extent of 2.02.5 hectares, situated at Thalaiyuthu Village, Palani Taluk, Dindigul District, by considering the representation dated 18.12.2025.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property is his ancestral property. Though the property was proposed to be acquired, the said acquisition proceedings were quashed by this Court in W.P.No.691 of 1998 by order dated 14.11.2003. Thereafter, the petitioner has been taking steps to restore the revenue records and to obtain patta in his name. This Page No. 2 of 5

Court, in W.P.(MD) No.3736 of 2025, directed the authorities to consider the petitioner's request and in W.P.(MD) No.19450 of 2025, directed the third respondent herein to submit the necessary proposal to the second respondent for mutation of the revenue records. However, till date, no action has been taken by the respondents. The petitioner once again submitted a representation dated 18.12.2025, but even thereafter no action has been taken. Therefore, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 18.12.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the second respondent within a period of twelve weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date Page No. 3 of 5

of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. There shall be no order as to costs. [K.SURENDER, J.] 13.02.2026 JEN Index : Yes / No To 1.The District Collector, District Collector Office, Dindigul District.
