Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to give permission and protection to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 23.02.2021 and 24.02.2021 at Melavalavoo Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District.

ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) accepts notice for the respondents.

3. Mr.S.Vijayakumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the Captain of Kabadi Team at Melavalavoo Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District and that the Kabadi Tournament is scheduled to be conducted on 23.02.2021 and 24.02.2021. His further contention is that he has submitted a representation dated 03.02.2021 to the respondents seeking https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.3323 of 2021 permission to conduct the said Tournament and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents.

4. The contention of Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate is that the representation submitted by the petitioner is pending for consideration.

5. In the circumstances, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, based on findings and on merits within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order/uploading of the order.

6. With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
