Mr.C.Satheesh, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

2. Considering the limited relief sought for in the writ petition, with the consent of the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. The petitioner seeks issuance of a writ of mandamus to transfer the patta in his name in respect of the land comprised in Survey No.182/3 Sl.No.182 measuring to an extent of 60 cents at Koduvilarpatti Revenue Village, Theni Taluk & District.

4. According to the petitioner, the petitioner has purchased the aforesaid land in the year 1992. He has made an application for mutation of patta in his name as early as on 27.07.2015 and also paid the requisite fees. However, no steps were taken by the respondents and hence, on 24.01.2025, the petitioner has made an online application. The present writ petition has been filed seeking disposal of the said application. 2/4

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

6. Though the petitioner claims to have made an application for patta transfer even as early as on 27.07.2015, it is not known why the petitioner has not taken any follow up steps for the last 10 years.

7. Considering the fact that the petitioner has made an online application on 24.01.2025, it would be suffice to direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the said application dated 24.01.2025 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations and directions. No costs.
