Common Prayer: Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Certiorari calling for the records

relating to impugned order in Letter No. NIL dated 00.01.2020 on the file of the 2nd respondent herein and to quash the same as illegal and arbitrary.

Mr.M.Suresh Standing Counsel COMMON ORDER The above writ petitions have been filed by the petitioners questioning the impugned order passed by the second respondent, in and by which the monthly rent was increased by 300%.

2. A common counter affidavit has been filed by the respondents (in W.P.(MD) Nos.3048, 3049, 3122 and 3162 of 2020), wherein the second respondent has stated that the rent has been reduced to 50% from the enhanced amount.

3. In the light of the above, the grievance of the petitioners has been addressed and it is informed that one of the petitioners has vacated the premises and some of them have started paying the revised rent. In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in these writ petitions except recording the counter of the respondent (filed in W.P.(MD) Nos.3048, 3049, 3122 and 3162 of 2020). Accordingly, these Writ Petitions are closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
