Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to give permission and to provide police protection to conduct Kabadi competition from 26.02.2021 to 28.02.2021 at Melarasur Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District.

ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.S.Chandra Sekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor accepts notice for the respondents.

3. Mr.M.Siddharthan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the Head of Kabadi Club at Melarasur Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District and that the Kabadi Tournament is scheduled to be conducted from 26.02.2021 to 28.02.2021. His further contention is that he submitted a representation dated 14.02.2021 to the second respondent seeking permission to conduct the said Tournament and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents.

4. The contention of Mr.S.Chandra Sekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor is that the representation submitted by the petitioner is pending for consideration.

5. In the circumstances, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the second https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.3462 of 2021 respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, based on findings and on merits within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order/uploading of the order.

6. With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
