ORDER

The petitioner seeks limited relief of writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent, namely, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Usilampatti to pass orders in the pending appeal dated 15.10.2024 filed under Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983.

2. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in the writ petition, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal, with the consent of parties, at the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioner, aggrieved by the rejection of his application to rectify the patta by the Tahsildar, has preferred an appeal before the first respondent on 15.10.2024. The petitioner only seeks expeditious disposal of the said appeal dated 15.10.2024. 2/4

4. Considering the limited prayer, I am inclined to issue a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the pending appeal of the petitioner, dated 15.10.2024 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
