2. Mr.S.Chandrasekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, accepts notice for the respondents.

3.This petition is filed for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary police protection to perform the cultural programme (i.e.) Adal Padal Dance Programme, on 11.03.2021, during the festival of Arulmighu Sri Thirukotti Ayyanar Thirukovil at Perunkottur, Tiruvengadam Taluk, Tenkasi District.

4. On the side of the petitioner, it is stated that the petitioner is proposed to conduct cultural programme during the festival and permission may be granted for the same. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

WP(MD)No.3538 of 2021 5.On the side of the respondents, it is stated that there is a possibility of a communal dispute in that area, a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted by the Tahsildar, Tiruvengadam and the peace committee meeting ended in failure and the prayer of the petitioner was already rejected by the respondent police. 6.Since the respondent police has already rejected the requisition of the petitioner and since there is a possibility of a communal clash in that area, this petition is dismissed. No costs.
