ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking for a direction to the respondents to give adequate police protection to the petitioner. 2.The main grievance of Mr.B.Jameel Arasu, learned counsel for the petitioner is that he is a retired surveyor and has agricultural lands at Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District. One Manikandan, who is very influential in the said locality, taking advantage of the petitioner's retirement from the Government service and also the fact that the petitioner does not have any relatives, prevented the petitioner from drawing water from the bore well for the purpose of irrigating his lands and also threatened the petitioner with dire consequences. His specific contention is that though the petitioner lodged a complaint with the second respondent, the second respondent did not take any action on the representation submitted by the petitioner.

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.2765 of 2021 3.Mr.R.Erottusamy, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, on instructions, would contend that the representation submitted by the petitioner was registered in CSR.No.78 of 2021 and is posted for enquiry. 4.Recording the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), the second respondent is directed to dispose of the representation, dated 11.11.2020 submitted by the petitioner, based on findings and on merits, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order / uploading of the order and the second respondent is also directed to give adequate police protection to the petitioner, if necessary. 5.With the above observations, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
