O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second and third respondents to include the names of the petitioner (Karuppaiah), the petitioner's sister (Vijayalakshmi) and the petitioner's brother (Swaminathan) in the computer pattas bearing Patta Nos.2246, 2245 and 2244, in respect of the properties comprised in Survey No.737/9C to an extent of 24 cents, Survey No. 737/9B to an extent of 23.50 cents and Survey No. 737/9A to an extent of 24 cents (totally measuring 71.50 cents), situated at Panangudi Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District, based on the proceedings of the third respondent in P.T.R.Nos. 148 and 149 of 2023 and P.S.R. No. 380 of 2023 dated 21.03.2023, within a stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the property comprised in Survey No.737/9, measuring an extent of 71.5 cents, situated at Panangudi Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District, originally belonged to the petitioner's mother, namely Nagammal, who purchased the same from Annamalai Chettiar and another under a registered sale deed dated 04.06.1984. Thereafter, she was in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the said property for several years without any encumbrance.
4. The revenue authorities had also issued patta in the name of the petitioner's mother bearing Patta No. 1099. Subsequently, on 19.12.2022, the petitioner's mother executed registered settlement deeds in Document Nos. 4589 of 2022, 4590 of 2022 and 4588 of 2022 respectively, in favour of the petitioner herein, Karuppaiah, his sister Vijayalakshmi and his brother Swaminathan.
5. Pursuant thereto, the revenue authorities issued separate pattas in their favour by sub-dividing the survey numbers, bearing Patta Nos. 2244, Page No. 3 of 7
2245 and 2246 respectively. Accordingly, the third respondent passed patta transfer orders in P.T.R.Nos.148 and 119 of 2023 and P.S.R. No. 380 of 2023, dated 21.03.2023.
6. However, the computer patta erroneously reflects the property as "Government Natham (HO)". Hence, the petitioner immediately submitted a representation to the third respondent seeking inclusion of their names in respect of the property comprised in Survey No. 737/9, under Patta No. 1099.
7. Thereafter, the third respondent, by his communication dated 01.07.2025 in Na.Ka. No. 784/2024/A8, stated that the petitioner has to approach the second respondent for carrying out the necessary corrections in respect of the said property. Accordingly, the petitioner submitted a representation to the second respondent seeking inclusion of the names of his family members in the computer patta in respect of Survey No. 737/9, to an extent of 71 cents, situated at Panangudi Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District.

8. Based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.07.2025, the second respondent issued an enquiry notice to the petitioner on 13.08.2025 vide Na.Ka. No. A4/5094/2025 and forwarded the same to the third respondent for submitting a report regarding rectification of the computer patta in respect of Survey No. 737/9. However, till date, no further action has been taken. Therefore, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
9. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the enquiry on the petitioner's representation dated 21.07.2025 would be completed and appropriate orders would be passed by the second respondent within a period of twelve weeks.
10. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to complete the enquiry on the petitioner's representation dated 21.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The third respondent is Page No. 5 of 7
also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. There shall be no order as to costs. [K.SURENDER, J.] 06.02.2026 JEN Index : Yes / No To 1.The District Collector, Pudukkottai District, Pudukkottai.
