Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying this Court for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus directing respondents 1 and 2 to produce the person or body of the petitioner's son, viz., Manikandau, S/o Cholai, aged about 19 years before this Hon'ble Court and set him at liberty. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.Sathyanarayanan, J.) The petitioner is the mother of the detenu, viz., Manikandan, aged 19 years and according to her, her son, along with one Lakshmi, W/o Karuppasamy, is missing from 11.6.19 onwards and a complaint in this regard given to the 2nd respondent, failed to evoke any kind of response and, therefore, the petitioner has come forward with the present petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Addl. Public Prosecutor, who accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 and 2, on instructions, submits that the husband of the 3rd respondent, viz., Karuppasamy, has lodged a complaint as to the missing of his wife based on which the 2nd respondent has registered a case in crime No.156/2019 for 'Woman Missing' and investigation is on.
3. In the light of the fact that the detenu is a major and prima facie it appears to be a case of elopement, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to conduct quality and speedy investigation in crime No.156/19 registered by them for woman missing and as and when the detenu and the 3rd respondent are traced, they shall be produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court for appropriate orders as to custody.
