Respondents Prayer: Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the Respondents to produce the body or person of detenu of the petitioner's son namely M.Thangapandiyan, son of V.Manimuthu, aged 30 years from the illegal custody of the 3rd respondent and set him at liberty.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN, J.) The petitioner, being the mother of the detenu, who is also an Engineering Graduate, alleging his illegal detention at the hands of the fourth respondent came forward to file this Habeas Corpus Petition and it was entertained on 27.06.2019. 2.When the matter is listed today, Mrs.P.Swarnacatha, Inspector of Police, Kaliyakavillai Police Station is present and Mr.K.Dinesh Babu, learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instruction would submit that the detenu has been arrested in connection with a case in Crime No.216 of 2018, registered by the Kaliyakkavilai Police for the commission of offence under Section https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

379 I.P.C. and was arrested on 27.06.2019 and he voluntarily gave a confession statement, which leads to recovery of the stolen vehicle and subsequently, he was produced before the Court of Judicial Magistrate No.I, Kuzhithurai on 27.06.2019 and on the same day he was remanded to judicial custody. 3.In the light of the said development, nothing survives for further adjudication in this Habeas Corpus Petition and the same is accordingly, closed. However, it is open to the detenu to work out his further remedy in accordance with law before the competent forums.
