O R D E R

The petitioner has come forward with this application, praying to direct the respondents 1 and 2, to provide necessary police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family.

2. Mr.R.Ganeshprabu, counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was elected as Panchayat President and presently he is continuing his social work to the village people. He would further submit that the 3rd respondent herein threatened the petitioner from doing so. The petitioner has also given a complaint to the respondent police on 27.11.2015. Therefore, the petitioner has come forward with this petition for the relief stated supra.

3. Mr.A.P.Balasubramani, Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the based on the complaint, a case in Crime No.797 of 2015 has been registered against the petitioner for grabbing of land of Ex-service man and now the petitioner is in judicial custody. Therefore, prayed for dismissal of the Criminal Original Petition.

4.I have heard the counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5.Taking note of the submission made by the Government Advocate (crl.side), I am not inclined to grant the relief sought for by the petitioner. Hence, this petition is dismissed.
