ORDER

This petition is filed to direct the 2nd respondent to give police protection to the petitioner's life and limb and property based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner with the respondents in person dated 12.02.2011 besides directing them to register the case against the accused namely Thangavel/3rd respondent. 2.The petitioner sought police protection to his life and limb through his representation dated 12.02.2011. However, now, almost 7-1/2 years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now and the same would have become infructuous. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.In view of the same, this criminal original petition is dismissed as infructuous. However, it is open to the petitioner to approach the respondents with fresh petition, which shall be considered, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of petition.
