This writ petition has been filed seeking permission to conduct the "Kabadi Match" from 21.01.2018 night 12.00 a.m to 21.01.2018 06.00 p.m and to provide police protection for conducting the programme by considering the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2018.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is one of the members of the "Thai Pongal Festival Committee" and the villagers of the said village are conducting the Pongal festival for the past several years and this year, they have decided to conduct the Pongal festival. During the above said festival, they have decided to conduct the Kabadi Match between 21.01.2018 night 12.00 a.m and 21.01.2018 06.00 p.m. Hence, he seeks police protection for the same. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.Considering the said submissions, the respondent/the Inspector of Police, Vasudevanallur Police Station, Vasudevanallur, Tirunelveli District, is directed to consider the representation given by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on or before 20.01.2018.

5. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
