This Habeas Corpus Petition is filed by one Eswari, W/o.Thangavelu, stating that her father Velu @ Katta Velu, aged 95 years is missing from home from 21.01.2021 afternoon and her search at the known places and relative houses ended in vain. Therefore, she has given a complaint to the second respondent on 02.02.2021. Though case has been registered in Crime No.82 of 2021 under 'man missing', till date there is no progress in the investigation and she fears whether her father is alive or dead.

H.C.P.(MD) No.309 of 2021 they have taken steps to trace the missing person by making advertisements in monthly newspapers and slide shows in theatres of the locality. Based on his cell phone number, attempts to trace through call details also made. Further, prominent places like railway stations and bus stand, the photograph of the detenu been pasted. The unidentified dead bodies in the hospitals were compared, but none tally. Old age home in the locality also been visited to verify whether the missing person is lodged. Till date, they are not able to trace him and as and when they get any clue or trace the person, they will inform the petitioner.

3. Recording the efforts taken by the second respondent to trace the missing person and the current status, this Court closed the Habeas Corpus Petition with a direction to the second respondent to continue the search and if they get any clue about the missing person, same may be informed to the petitioner.
