This writ petition has been filed seeking permission to conduct the "Thai Pongal Thiruvizha" on 16.01.2018 and to give police protection on the same to the Sri Nondichamy Aligiamman Temple, at Keeranur Valayarpatti Village, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 30.12.2017. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents .

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is one of the Organisers of the Festival Committee of Sri Nondichamy Aligiamman Temple, at Keeranur Valayarpatti Village. The Villagers are conducting Thai Pongal Thiruvizha for the past few years and this year also they have decided to conduct the Thai Pongal Thiruvizha on 16.01.2018 and seeks police protection for the same.

4.Considering the said submissions, the second respondent/Inspector of Police, Melur Police Station, Melur is directed to consider the representation given by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a week.

5. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
