ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event, namely, Adal Padal scheduled to be held on 22.02.2020 at night 06.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m in connection with "Maha Sivarathiri Festival" in Arulmigh Sri Krishnappa Ayyanar Kovil at Ranasingapuram Village, Thiruppathur Taluk, Sivagangai District, by consider the petitioner's representation, dated 02.02.2020. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents.

3.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner has been received only on 17.02.2020. She would further submit that there are three rival groups in the village and during the last year function on 10.12.2019 in respect of conducting Karthikai Lighting Festival, a peace committee meeting was conducted and since no consensus was arrived between the three rival parties, the petitioner and the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.3325 of 2020 rival parties were prevented from burning palm tree (Chokkapanai). Till date there is a dispute in the village and thereby, apprehending breach of peace and law and order, the respondents have decided not to grant permission to the cultural event. 4.Recording the same, the writ petition stands closed. No costs.
