Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct cultural programme on 06.03.2021 in connection with the Guru Poojai Festival of Arulmighu Bathrakaliamman Temple, Mangapuram, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2.Mr.S.Chandra Sekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor accepts notice for the respondents.
3.Mr.R.Karthic Rajan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is one of the organizers of the festival committee of Arulmighu Bathrakaliamman Temple, Mangapuram, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District and that cultural events are scheduled to be held on 06.03.2021. His further contention is that he submitted a representation dated 17.02.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the said programme and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
W.P.(MD)No.3625 of 2021 4.The contention of Mr.S.Chandra Sekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor is that the representation submitted by the petitioner is pending for consideration.
5.In the circumstances, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner either in his representation or in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law and based on merits and on findings, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order/uploading of the order. 6.With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
