O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the impugned order passed by the second respondent on 11.06.2018 and consequently direct the respondents to grant permission and necessary police protection to perform the traditional cock fight programme from 24.06.2018 to 27.06.2018 in the festival of Sri Muthalamman, Sri Kaliamman, Sri Bhagavathiamman temple at Sukkampatti Village, Dindigul West Taluk, Dindigul District. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.According to the petitioner, he made a representation to the respondents on 10.06.2018 seeking permission to conduct traditional cock fight. The second respondent has passed the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

impugned order on 11.06.2018, rejecting permission as sought by the petitioner. Challenging the same, this writ petition has been filed. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, would submit that earlier, a case has been registered in Crime No.116 of 2017 on the file of the Aravakurichi Police Station in connection with cock fight. Hence, the second respondent has rejected to grant permission to conduct cock fight. 5.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that an opportunity may be given to the petitioner to place all the relevant materials before the respondent police seeking permission. 6.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has contended that the petitioner may be directed to make a fresh representation before the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vedasandur and the same shall be considered on merits.

7.In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this writ petition is disposed of, giving liberty to the petitioner to make a fresh representation before the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vedasandur. If any such representation is received, the same shall be considered on merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
