Prayer:- Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to give necessary police protection to the life and limb o the petitioner, his family members on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 19.12.2022.

ORDER

The petition is filed for a direction to provide police protection. 2.The claim of the petitioner is that the petitioner is doing some public interest work and is exposing people, therefore, those people are determined to cause harm to the petitioner.

3.When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that there are 22 cases, which is pending against the petitioner, whenever there is any threat or apprehension, the police will look into the matter.

4.In reply thereof, the learned counsel would submit that the above mentioned that 22 cases are incorrect and the petitioner has only 14 cases, of which three cases are pending.

5.Be that as it may, if the petitioner apprehends any reasonable threat, he can bring it to the notice of the concerned jurisdictional SHO and then if the threat is genuine, temporarily, they will safeguard the life and liberty of the petitioner. The prayer of the petitioner to provide him permanent protection for his life cannot be countenanced. More specifically, the petitioner has also got cases against him. Therefore, the prayer as such cannot be countenanced. If and when the petitioner experiences any life threat, the same shall be brought to the notice of the SHO and depending on the genuineness, appropriate action will be taken. 6.With such liberty to the petitioner, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
