2. The petitioners are accused of commission of offence under Sections 8 and 9 of the Tamil Nadu Gaming Act. The offences are alleged to have taken place within Madurai City limits. The Tamil Nadu Gaming Act stands not extended to Madurai.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners in support of his contention, relied on a decision of this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD).Nos.10526 of 2014 etc., batch dated 09.10.2014.
4. Heard the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side).
5. In view of the settled position that the Tamil Nadu Gaming Act has not been extended to Corporation areas, the proceedings in Crime No.99/2014 dated 08.03.2014 and Crime No.165/2014 dated 17.04.2014 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Othakadai Police Station, Madurai District stand quashed and these Criminal Original Petitions are allowed.
