The present writ petition has been filed seeking mandamus directing the third respondent to issue 'No Objection Certificate' for drawing ground water from the petitioner's patta land in survey No. 426/7, Kovalam Village, Agastheeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District.

2. In the affidavit, the petitioner has contended that the petitioner intends to draw the ground water for the purpose of commercially supplying the same to the agriculturists. Hence, the petitioner has made an application to the third respondent on 04.02.2023. So far, no orders have been passed. Hence, the present writ petition. 2/4

3. Considering the abovesaid fact, the third respondent is directed to consider the application made by the writ petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law in the light of G.O.(Ms).No.142, Public Works (R2) Department, dated 23.07.2014 and G.O.(Ms).No.15, Water Resources (R1) Department, dated 28.03.2023 and pass orders within four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
