ORDER

Mr.K.Sathiyasingh, learned counsel takes notice for the first respondent and Mr.S.M.S.Johny Basha, learned counsel takes notice for the second respondent.

2. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. This Writ petition has been filed praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to restore the electric meter and electricity connection to the petitioner's shop bearing Shop No.1/69 K11A, Gandhimandabam, Anugu Saalai, Kanyakumari District, within a stipulated time.

4. The case of the petitioner is that despite the fact that the petitioner has been paying the electricity charges regularly, without issuing any notice, the second respondent has disconnected the electricity service connection and remove the electric meter https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)No.3442 of 2020 from the petitioner's shop. Hence, he made a representation to the respondents on 23.01.2020, to restore the electric meter and electricity service connection to the petitioner's shop and the same has not been considered so far. Hence, this writ petition.

5. In view of the above, considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.01.2020 and pass orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
