Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to confer minimum pension to the petitioner as per the Government Order in G.O.(MS).No.299, Revenue Department dated 27.08.2012 and also sanction enhanced pension benefits to the petitioner by taking into account of half of services in the post of Noon Meal Organizer as per G.O.(MS).No.408, Finance (Pension) Department, dated 25.08.2009, with effect from 01.07.2009, on the basis of the petitioner representation dated 20.12.2017.

ORDER
Heard the learned counsel on either side.
2.By consent of both the parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal
3.The petitioner was appointed as a Village Karnam from April 1979 to November 1979 in Achampatty Village, Sengipatti Firka, Thanjavur Taluk, Thanjavur District. The said post was abolished in the year 1980. The petitioner was working as Noon Meal Organizer from 08.02.1983 to 22.12.2000. Thereafter, he joined duty as Village Administrative Officer on 23.12.2000. He served in the said capacity till 30.06.2009. Though the petitioner had put in service as Village Administrative Officer only for 7 1/2 years, as pointed out by the learned counsel by virtue of G.O.(Ms).No.299, Revenue Department, dated 27.08.2012, the petitioner would be entitled to minimum pension.
4.The second respondent is directed to confer minimum pension to the petitioner in terms of G.O.(Ms).No.756, Revenue Department, dated 17.08.1993 and another G.O.(Ms).No.299, Revenue Department, dated 27.08.2012 whereby, the same minimum pension was conferred on similarly placed Village Administrative Officers. 5.Therefore, the second respondent is directed to compute the arrears payable to the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from today. The entire monetary benefits and the arrears will also be disbursed within a period of ten weeks from today.
