Prayer: Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to issue patta in petitioner's favour by considering the petitioner's application dated 05.07.2023 and reminder dated 04.01.2024 for the property in Survey no. 13/2A-96 cent, which is situated at Nattarasankottai Village, Sivagangai District.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondent to issue patta in petitioner's favour by considering the petitioner's application dated 05.07.2023 and reminder dated 04.01.2024 for the property in Survey no. 13/2A-96 cent, which is situated at Nattarasankottai Village, Sivagangai District.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner made an application to the respondent on 05.07.2023 and reminder dated 04.01.2024 regarding the issuance of patta. Since the same has not been considered till date, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that the petitioner's application will be disposed of in accordance with law by the respondent within the time stipulated by this Court. 2/4

In view of the above said submission, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the application submitted by the petitioner on 05.07.2023 and his reminder dated 04.01.2024 regarding the issuance of patta and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
