RESPONDENTS Writ Petition filed praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the affidavit filed therewith the High Court may be pleased to directing the respondents 1 and 2 to disburse the compensation to the petitioner under Chief Ministers Relief Fund for Road Accident Victims, Which is pending in Priority Reg.No.59/19 on the file of the 2nd Respondent.

ORDER : This Writ petition coming up for orders on this day, upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.M.KARTHIKEYA VENKITACHALAPHY, Advocate for the petitioner and of Mr.M.RAMESH, Government Advocate on behalf of the Respondents 1 & 2 and Mr.K.SANJAI GANDHI, Government Advocate(Crl.side) for the 3rd respondent, the Court made the following order:-

This Writ Petition was filed for Mandamus, seeking compensation for his son's death in a road accident.

2. This Court vide order dated 24.02.2020 while disposing of the Writ Petition, directed the second respondent to disburse the compensation amount to the petitioner based on her application within a period of two weeks and posted the case for reporting compliance on 16.03.2020.

3. On earlier occasion, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that since the road accident was caused by unidentified motor cycle, it could not be traced till now. At the time of filing of this Writ Petition, the petitioner was 97 years old. Therefore, this Court directed the respondents to ascertain whether the petitioner is alive or not.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents on instructions from the respondents submitted before this Court that the petitioner died.

5. Therefore, nothing survives for adjudication and no further orders are required in this Writ Petition.
