PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, direct the 2nd respondent to issue a Legal Heir Certificate in respect of late Sankaranarayana Theetchadhar to the petitioner, after due enquiry, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 17.12.2025 within a specified time as may be fixed by this Court. ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the second respondent to issue legal heir certificate for the death of the petitioner's grandfather, namely, Shankaranarayana Theetchadar.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, his grandfather had passed away on 08.11.1995, leaving behind his two sons, namely, S.S.Krishnan and S.S.Srinivasan and a daughter, namely, Raji.

3. The learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner further submits that his father has passed away on 20.06.2019. He has made an application on 17.12.2025 seeking legal heir certificate. Since the same has not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. The second respondent is directed to consider the online application to be filed by the writ petitioner and pass orders on merits in accordance with law within a period of 8(eight) weeks from the date of filing of the application.

5. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
