This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal in Page No. 1 of 4

O.Mu.No.8202/2025/A1 dated 16.10.2025 within a time stipulated by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject properties belong to the petitioner's family. Without any valid title or document of title, the revenue records have been wrongly mutated in the name of the Government, even though the petitioner's ancestors were in possession as title holders. After the civil proceedings were decided in favour of the petitioner, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the first respondent seeking correction of the revenue records and issuance of patta in favour of the legal heirs of Boomaiya Gounder, including the petitioner. The first respondent, by proceedings in O.Mu.No.8202/2025/A1 dated 16.10.2025, forwarded the entire file to the second respondent for appropriate action on the petitioner's request. However, thereafter, no action has been taken on the petitioner's appeal. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's appeal in O.Mu.No.8202/2025/A1 would be disposed of by the first respondent within a period of sixteen weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal in O.Mu.No.8202/2025/A1 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent shall afford a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all other interested parties before passing such orders. No costs.
