O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.04.2022 and to make payment of the eligible amount of the medical reimbursement bill due to the petitioner within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was working as Assistant Accounts Officer in Tamil Nadu Electricity Generating and Distribution Corporation under the control of the second respondent and she was allowed to retire from service on 28.02.2019. The petitioner is a member of the Tamil Nadu Government Health Fund Scheme and in the month of February 2019, the petitioner was fall in sudden ill health and over bleeding was continuously happened. Therefore, she was admitted in Madurai Meenkashi Mission Hospital. The Doctor diagnosed that the petitioner was sustained with Carcinoma Cervix III A and she undergone 2/5

Radiation treatment for three consecutive months as in-patient. For every Radiation therapy treatment, the Hospital is charging a sum of Rs.12,500/- per day and as on date, the total medical expenditure met out by the petitioner is Rs.12,00,000/- (Rupees Twelve Lakhs only). Hence she made a representation to the second respondent on 06.04.2022 with the details of the treatment given to her. But, till date, no order was passed. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the second respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.04.2022, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents has no serious objection for such an order being passed by this Court. 3/5

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 06.04.2022 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
