ORDER

The petitioner is the 6th accused in Crime No.566 of 2020 on the file of the respondent Police registered for the offence under Sections 417, 418 and 420 IPC. He has moved this petition seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.566 of 2020 pending against him.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that the investigation in Crime No.566 of 2020 was completed and the final report has also been filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Virudhunagar, through e-filing in LTN 20220001827 & C202500342 dated 02.04.2025.

3. Since it is reported that the final report has been filed in Crime No. 566 of 2020, without ascertaining the materials relied on by the investigating agency in the final report, this Court is not inclined to proceed with the available FIR. Therefore, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the final report, if he is having any ground. Mere filing of the final report through e-filing is not sufficient. The respondent Police shall ensure that the final report is taken on file within a 2/4

reasonable time. It is not only the responsibility of the respondent Police, the trial Court is also expected to take the final report on file, without any delay. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 25.08.2025 ogy NCC : Yes / No.
