Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to restore the electricity service connection No.233-002-54 IIC of our Church by considering the petitioner's representation dated 18.12.2017 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. O R D E R

The petitioner's electricity service connection No.233-002-54 IIC came to be disconnected on account of non-payment of the electricity dues and hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

2.Today when the matter was called, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that they are willing to pay the entire arrears and other penalties, if any, to enable the department to restore the electricity service connection.

3.The learned Standing Counsel on the other hand submits that since the petitioner's premises was locked for the past two months, they were unable to record the consumption and therefore, they had disconnected the electricity supply for non-payment of electricity dues.

4.In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner that they are willing to make the payments now, the respondent may not be prejudiced in any manner. 5.With the above observation, the petitioner is granted liberty to approach the fourth respondent seeking for restoration of electricity supply to service connection No.233-002-54 IIC, after payment of all the arrears and on such representation, the fourth respondent shall restore the electricity service connection to the petitioner's premises. Such an exercise shall be done on the same day of receipt of the representation.

6.Further taking into consideration the submission of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, it would be desirable that the meter installed inside the petitioner's premises be shifted to a convenient place, where the respondents may be facilitated to record the meter reading, even if the petitioner's premises is kept under lock and key.

7.This Writ Petition stands ordered accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
