O R D E R
(1)The above petition is filed by the petitioners to extend the time by one week to pay the fine amount of Rs.15,000/-, [imposed by the Trial Court in Spl.SC.No. 150/2020] as directed by this Court vide order dated 21.01.2025 in Crl.A. (MD).No.1133/2024.
(2)The petitioners in the affidavit filed in support of the above petition state that though the order in the aforesaid Criminal Appeal was passed by this Court as early as on 21.01.2025, the same was uploaded in the website only on 17.09.2025 and the certified copy was issued only on 22.09.2025. The petitioners state that thereafter, they were not able to contact the High Court Advocate since they misplaced the contact number of the Advocate and also that the petitioners were not able to mobilise funds because of finanacial constraints. Hence, the petitioners state that due to the aforesaid genuine reasons, the order of this Court dated 21.01.2025, could not be complied with in time. The petitioners therefore pray that time may be extended by one week to comply with the said order.
(3)The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that this Court may grant one week time to comply with the order dated 21.01.2025, and that the petitioners
are also prepared to pay cost for the delay.
(4)The learned Government Advocate [Crl. Side] appearing for the 1st respondent submitted that the case is posted before the Trial Court for defence evidence on 26.02.2026.
(5)Heard both sides and perused the materials placed. (6)Being satisfied with the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of this petition and in order to give the petitioners an opportunity, this Court is inclined to allow the petition.
(7)Accordingly, the petition is ordered and the time is extended by one week from today for the petitioners to comply with the Condition No.10[i] in the order dated 21.01.2025, subject to the condition that the petitioners shall pay a cost of Rs.5,000/- [Rupees Five Thousand Only], to the State Legal Services Authority, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai.
