ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 1 to 6 to take action against respondents 7 to 9 for violation of the approved building plan granted to the 7th respondent, as well as for non-compliance with and violation of the relevant Building Acts and Rules. The petitioner relies on various representations submitted by him and on the letters issued by the second respondent to the third respondent dated 08.12.2025, 09.12.2025, 05.01.2026, 09.01.2026, and 12.01.2026, and seeks a direction to complete such action within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner claims that he is a neighbour of the private respondents and contends that they have constructed the building contrary to the approved plan and have committed several violations. 3/6

3. The learned counsel for respondents 7 and 8 submits that there are no violations and that the construction has been carried out strictly in accordance with the applicable rules. It is also admitted that the petitioner has filed a civil suit seeking permanent injunction against the private respondents.

4. In view of the above, the Block Development Officer, Kumbakonam, is directed to conduct an inspection in the presence of both parties. If any violations are found, appropriate action shall be taken in accordance with law. It is further clarified that any application submitted for approval of a revised plan shall also be considered in accordance with law.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. [N.S.K., J.] & [M.J.R., J.] 02.04.2026 Index :Yes/No Internet :Yes am 4/6
