ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the second respondent herein, wherein the request of the petitioners for issuance of a legal heir certificate for the death of their father has been rejected on the sole ground that the petitioners' father had two wives.

According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioners, the first petitioner was born to Mr.Sethu through his first wife, namely, Kamalam and petitioners 2 and 3 were born to Mr.Sethu through his second wife, namely, Meenakshi. According to him both Kamalam and Meenakshi have passed away and there is no dispute among the wives and/or their legal heirs. Therefore, he prays for quashing the order passed by the second respondent.

In view of the above, the impugned order is set aside and the matter is remitted back to the file of the second respondent herein and the petitioners are directed to appear before the second respondent and express their consensus for issuance of a legal heir certificate in their names. In case, if any online application is made, the second respondent shall dispose of the same, after hearing the petitioners within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5

4. With the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 09.02.2026 TTA TO
