O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking permission to direct the respondent to grant permission and police protection to conduct 'Cricket Tournament' scheduled from 14.01.2018 to 16.01.2018 at 8.00 a.m to 6.00 p.m in Ni.Ve.Se Government Higher Secondary School at Radhapuram, Tirunelveli.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that every year they used to conduct 'Cricket Tournament' in view of the 'Pongal Festival' and this year also they have decided to conduct the Match and accordingly, they submitted a representation on 21.12.2017 seeking permission. But, so far, the respondent has not passed any order.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader has submitted that in the last year during Pongal Festival at Radhapuram town, Cricket Match was conducted, after the said match, a riot arose between two teams and consequently, law and order problem has been created. He further submitted that the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vallioor Sub-Division, has already issued an order under https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Section 30(3) of the Police Act, not to conduct any meeting or processions without getting license from him. 4.Considering the aforesaid submission, the respondent/ inspector of Police is directed to forward the petition submitted by the petitioner dated 21.12.2017 to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Valliyoor. After the receipt of the said petition, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Valliyoor is directed to pass appropriate orders within two days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
